What is Spinal Flow
The Spinal Flow Technique stands as both a philosophy and a science, based on the spinal nerve supply. It is a hands-on approach that focuses on restoring communication between the spine and the nervous system. It aims to identify and release blockages in the nervous system which can cause pain, disease, and illness. Contacting the central nervous system via 33 access points located along the sacrum and cranium, a practitioner assists in the release of blockages within the 7 gateways of the spine. Each of which has its own set of symptoms and emotional patterns. . This restores the body’s natural healing intelligence and moves it from a stress zone to a healthy, regulated state. The natural spinal wave is increased to free up internal life force energy. Within every human body lies an intrinsic intelligence capable of growth, repair, and healing. Much like how our hair naturally grows and our heart beats rhythmically, our spinal column has a natural wave-like movement, referred to as the Spinal Wave. Spinal Flow works to enhance this natural force within. When unimpeded, the Spinal Wave ensures clear communication between the central nervous system and the rest of the body to regulate a state of health and flow of vital energy. However, throughout our lives, we accumulate blockages that inhibit this natural healing mechanism. Whether it be from injury, poor posture, emotional trauma, or toxic chemical buildup, these blockages send a distress signal to the areas of the body that they are connected to. This creates a state of imbalance, pain and dis-ease. This is also why treating the area of symptom doesn’t always work, since there is a root blockage located in the spine which, until dissolved, will send a message of disease to that area. By addressing and releasing blockages within the spinal nerves, life force energy can move throughout each vertebra in the spine, thus to every area of the body.

What does a session look like
Each new client will undergo an assessment which identifies the blocked areas of the spine, and whether it is caused by physical, emotion, or chemical stress. This includes range of motion exercises, spinal palpation, and an in-depth questionnaire and intake dialogue where we look to identify the origins of the blockages and the patterns that perpetuate them. From here we make your personal treatment plan! This includes a series of spinal flow sessions, as well as dietary and lifestyle recommendations, as healing is a multi-faceted endeavor! The treatment itself is done clothed, on a massage table, with accommodations available for those in wheelchairs, pregnant women, or anyone who can not lay comfortably face down. It is common to enter a deep space of inner presence during a session, and clients are encouraged to stay awake and aware of the sensations they are feeling. Some may experience physical movement, or emotional release. The practitioner will identify the most receptive access point and hold a gentle pressure, encouraging movement of the spinal wave and increased range of breath. We may do some gentle adjustments to open up areas of the spine that are blocked. Sessions typically last anywhere from 20-45 minutes. This is depended on how the nervous system responds, and more time doesn't always mean a better session. We learn to listen to the body and allow the nervous system to integrate the release without being overstimulated. After our series of sessions is complete, we will re-evaluate and map your new spine and the progress that has been made!
