Sacred Sound
My first experience with the power of singing was at a Kirtan in Maui in 2012. Although I didn't understand the Vedic mantras, I deeply felt their emotional impact. My heart expanded, my empathy grew, and I sensed a profound union with everyone in the room, as well as something greater and indescribable. It felt like coming home and being held, an experience that changed my life. This pivotal moment set me on a path of learning to carry and offer sacred and healing songs from cultures around the world. When we sing, connecting our minds and hearts, and send out our song from that place, it transforms into a powerful prayer. This way of connecting with the divine, God, or source—whatever one may call it—is primordial and links us to a lineage older than time.
How it heals
Sound possesses immense transformative and healing power, capable of inducing relaxation, physical healing, emotional elevation, and restoring balance to our lives. It affects us on all levels—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Throughout history, various cultures, including the Ancient Mystery Schools of Greece, Rome, Egypt, Tibet, the Americas and India, recognized sound as the primary creative force in the universe, understanding that everything is in a state of vibration. This ancient wisdom aligns with modern scientific understanding, such as the study of neurobiology, cymatics and Rife frequencies, affirming the impact of sound as a therapeutic and transformative energy. What a gift that we have the ability to use sound for healing in any given moment, through our words and our song. Opening the voice can liberate us to our core, releasing trauma, limiting beliefs, and connecting us with the source of bliss and belonging.
